Make a Wish Foundation

Choir accompanist Tim Howsare is raising money for the Make a Wish Foundation.

An avid runner, Tim is participating in the Arizona chapter's Walk for Wishes in Tempe on March 3. He will be running in a 5K with other runners and walkers from Maricopa.

The mission of the Make a Wish Foundation is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. For instance, providing a trip to Disneyland if the child's family cannot afford it.

Donations by check or cash can be made directly to Tim. Checks should be made out to the Make a Wish Foundation.

Ash Wednesday and Lenten Services

Ash Wednesday service will be held at Santa Rosa at 7 p.m. on February 22. Wednesdays during Lent (2/29, 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, 3/28), we will have a soup supper at 6:15 and service at 7 p.m. at Santa Rosa.

Spring Break VBS

VBS will be held at the mission house March 12, 13, 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. This will be a joint venture with Journey Methodist Church.

VITA Program

Tax

The training is completed and the VITA team is ready to start doing income taxes!

The hours for the VITA program are 10:30 to 2:30 on Friday, and 10 to 2 on Saturday.

Food Bank

The Maricopa Food Bank is in need of both in person and phone volunteers. If interested, please give them a call at 520-251-0226 and let them know that Maricopa Lutheran sent you. Also, food is still needed - so feel free to bring it on Sunday!
